Commitment
I want this site to be usable by everyone, whatever their device, the way they browse or any impairment. The goal is to meet WCAG 2.2 (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) level AA.
Conformance status
Partially conformant: most content meets level AA, with the exceptions listed below. This is a self-assessment based on automated testing; there has not yet been an independent audit.
What has been done
Semantic structure with ordered headings and labelled regions; a skip-to-content link; full keyboard navigation with an always-visible focus indicator; colour contrast checked in both light and dark themes; the language declared on every page; alternative text on images; forms with labels, instructions and errors announced to screen readers; reduced animation when the system asks for less motion.
How it is tested
Every change goes through automated browser tests (desktop and mobile) and a Lighthouse check that fails if the accessibility score drops below 95.
Known limitations
The generated PDFs (CV and proposals) do not yet have a complete tag structure for screen readers; the same content is available as HTML on the site. The anti-spam challenge (Cloudflare Turnstile) and external call-booking pages are third-party and outside my control.
Report a problem
If you run into a barrier, write to ricardotorres@ricardotorres.com.pt with the page and what happened. I reply personally, usually on the same working day, and will fix it or get you the information in another format.
